- Must provide evidence of a record of scholarly and professional publications and external funding commensurate with the rank applied for.

- Must provide some representative evidence of teaching.

- Expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized, externally funded research program centered on natural resource management and involving masters and doctoral students.

The Department is interested in scholarship exploring at least one of the following areas: wildlife ecology, field biology, or wildlife conservation.

Assistant Professor:
Must be able to articulate a research agenda, have an emerging record of publications and external funding, excellent teaching skills and commitment to service.

Associate Professor:
1. Must be able to articulate a research agenda, have an emerging record of publications and external funding, excellent teaching skills and commitment to service.
2. Must have an established research agenda, a strong record of publications and external funding, excellent teaching skills with demonstrated effectiveness and a track record of service. Tenure is contingent on Board of Regents approval.

Description of Job Duties

Teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students at the Main and Downtown campuses; participate in teaching courses in the Department of Environmental Science and Ecology degree programs; pursue an active research, publishing, and external funding agenda; and serve the University, profession, and community.
Degree programs currently offered in the Department are: Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Environmental Science, Minor in Environmental Science, and Certificates in Sustainability and Environmental Science for post-baccalaureate students. The Program also participates in inter-college (College of Sciences and College of Engineering) doctoral program in Environmental Science and Engineering. The College of Sciences is composed of seven departments. In the Environmental Science and Ecology Department, there are approximately 200 undergraduate and 40 graduate students.
