- Three years of experience as a tennis coach.

- Specific knowledge in the sport of Women's Tennis and knowledge and compliance with all NCAA, rules and regulations.

- Demonstrated excellent organizational, written, and verbal communications skills.

- Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and flexibility.

Description of Job Duties

Provide management of the Women's Tennis program.

Responsible for all aspects of a Division I women's tennis program, including recruiting prospective student-athletes, scheduling, budgeting, player development, on-court coaching, serves as community relations liaison for the Women's Tennis program , and monitor academic progress of student-athletes.

1. Ensure knowledge of and monitor the compliance with NCAA and conference rules and policies by all members of the coaching staff
2. Recruit academically and athletically qualified students to meet UTSA admissions and Division I standards.
3. Monitor satisfactory academic progress of student-athlete and arrange for necessary academic counseling through Athletics Academic Counselor.
4. Conduct all practice sessions.
5. Recommend grants of financial aid with the approval of the Athletics Director and the University Scholarships, Loans, Awards Committee, and Director of Financial Aid.
6. Endorse high ethical standards for self, staff and student-athletes.
7. Responsible for the management and supervision of staff, including assistant coaches
8. Responsible for budget preparation and management including all team travel, on- and off-campus recruiting, equipment and apparel purchasing, facility rental and necessary supplies for program success
9. Recommend letter awards to the Athletics Director in accordance with approved lettering standards.
10. Work with Athletics Communications to develop and maintain a communications program with the surrounding communities, businesses, and supporters
11. Responsible for collaboration and strategic planning with Athletics Development staff to assist with program fundraising
12. Has the responsibility for execution of an effective system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures are followed.
13. Create appropriate schedule of competitions and arrange officials for all home matches
14. Coordinate UTSA Tennis Courts schedule with internal and external teams
15. Organize tournaments and pro-am events for UTSA
16. Preform additional duties as assigned

1. Represent UTSA at Conference-USA and national meetings.
