-Required: EPA universal refrigeration certification license is required.


-Experience with using tools and equipment common to refrigeration mechanics.

Description of Job Duties

Typical:


1. Overhaul and services refrigeration units by repairing, replacing or adjusting worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps; adds gas to refrigeration units; repairs or adjusts valves, piping connections, fittings and couplings; adjusts expansion valves; removes/installs motors, thermostats, and humidistats; and tests for refrigerant leaks.


2. Checks gauges and makes inspection for preventive maintenance; assists in evaluation equipment for deferred maintenance and new project installation of refrigeration equipment.


3. Maintains records and prepares reports on repairs and services.


4. Perform other duties as assigned.


Periodic:


1. Assists in training staff in the maintenance of refrigeration and related equipment.
